 SOMASY has been developed as an integrated SACCO and MFI (Micro-Finance) system, which addresses all the major functional areas of modern multi-specialty SACCOs and Micro-Finance Institutions. SOMASY enables better members, loans, shares, deposits, withdrawals, standing orders, salaries, dividends, produce proceeds, accounts and general office administration, efficiency and reduced costs. It provides easy access to critical information there by enabling the management to take better decisions on time.

 

Unlike foreign programmes, Somacy has been designed by assistance from local professionals in the microfinance and SACCO Institutions. It is tailored to meet the management needs of these organizations.

 SYSTEM ACCESS

The solution is built to run on Window 98 or above and MS Access 97 or above with a Standard Graphic User Interface (GUI) Application. Users can access the system’s services through various interfaces as follows:

SYSTEM FUNCTIONALITIES

The SOMASY system has three main sections namely:-

I. Back office operations

This section covers all the major functions of a normal Sacco

II. Front office operations

The front office operations section is like a banking interface and is applicable to those SACCOs that operate banks.

III. System administrations

All setup operations are done here in this section.
